Chin Implants
The placement of an implant (prosthetic) chin can take from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Your plastic surgeon will select the proper implant size according to the morphology of your face to improve its environment. The incision can be made at the oral mucosa of the lower lip or skin level of the chin. Once the incision and created a pocket, the implant is placed in this, just above the jaw bone in the mental region
Cheek implants
The cheek implant surgery takes about 40 minutes to 1 hour. If this procedure is performed in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation surgery (rhytidectomy, blafaroplastia, forehead lift), the implant is placed through the incisions made for these interventions. If, however, the implant is placed as a single procedure, incisions are made at the intra-oral mucosa of the upper lip, creating a pocket at the cheekbones and inserting the implant at this level.
Recovery from this surgery varies according to whether it was made or another procedure. The swelling and discomfort are normal after intervention, however, these symptoms disappear within days and are relieved with analgesics and anti-inflammatory.
It is important that you strictly follow post-operative instructions as directed by your surgeon.
